Jennifer and Michelle write
"For us, it was never a question of
'if' we would have children, just
when and how. Being a lesbian
couple, we did not venture into parenthood the same way most
heterosexual couples do.
"When choosing a doctor, we were looking for an experienced, open-minded group of professionals who welcomed our family into their practice. That was exactly what we found with Alan and Becky Green. Each person we came into contact with -- doctors, nurses, ultrasound technicians, office staff -- was friendly and helpful.
"Their fertility coordinator was an
invaluable resource for us. At times, we had daily phone
contact with her in order to coordinate our procedures.
Although we were aware that there were many other
patients in similar situations to ours, she was never too busy
to listen to us. Instead, she seemed to ride the
emotional roller coaster with us. A calming, knowledgable
friend during our 'downs,' who rejoiced with us at
our 'ups.'
"We were very fortunate in June of 2000 to
conceive our first child on only our second artificial
insemination procedure. It took more time to conceive our
second child, and after three unsuccessful insemination
attempts, Dr. Rebecca Green recommended fertility testing.

issue made it clear to us that we had made the right decision to come to her and Alan. She was not going to allow us to waste time or money on procedures that would not work.
"Just two attempts later, we got the
wonderful news that we had been waiting for, and now we look
forward to the birth of our second child this fall."
