Anne-Marie & Anthony Write

“Our little ray of sunshine entered our lives on June 22, 2003.  After 10 years of marriage we have a healthy, beautiful miracle we named, Isabella.
“In April 2002 my husband and I decided to discontinue birth control with the hopes of starting a family.  I was curious to see what my body would do on its own, since I had been on it for fourteen years due in part to amenorrhea.  The months became increasingly uncomfortable.  I sought help in September 2001 at Dr. Becky Green’s office.
“I met Becky after an initial fertility workup and HSG procedure, an X-ray dye study of the uterus and tubes.  Following yet more labs, we sat down with to discuss our impending fertility treatment.  One more test needed to be preformed to rule out PCO, polycystic ovarian syndrome.  This entailed an internal ultrasound.
“And so PCO was confirmed, which is a metabolic and endocrine disorder effecting fertility and long-term implications if left untreated.  During the workup and throughout treatments I was monitored very closely via labs and ultrasounds.

“No words could ever properly convey our joy & gratitude for this special gift” says Anne-Marie.
“Fertility treatments December 2001 – September 2002:
– 3 unsuccessful Clomid cycles - one with an IUI
– 2 cycles of birth control to release testosterone and reduce cysts
– 10 months of Metformin, an insulin sensitizer agent (including first trimester)
– 2 cycles of Follistim injections, both performed with IUI’s; achieved two pregnancies, one successful
– Progesterone suppositories throughout first trimester
“Persistence pays off, but of course, the struggle to get there is not always easy.   No words could ever properly convey our joy & gratitude for this special gift.”
With Christmas, another Patriot's Super Bowl win, and beautiful Isabella, Anne Marie and Anthony had a lot to celebrate this winter!
